The first albus lupin with resistance to the anthracnose disease will be released by COGGO and the Department of Agriculture in 2005.
The first breeding line with partial anthracnose resistance (WALAB 2000) was bulked-up over summer 2003-04 at Manjimup and is currently undergoing further seed increase by COGGO members in winter 2004.
Depending on seed quantities, the first resistant variety will be released to growers in 2005 for commercial production in 2006.
COGGO members will have priority in the allocation of seed.
